Yes, Patrons will only be shown titles for materials owned by the library.
HOW LONG BEFORE RECOMMENDATIONS REFLECT INDIVIDUAL PATRON READING TASTES?
Typically within 24 hours, patrons will start getting recommendations. The accuracy of these recommendations depends on the number of items they have checked out, and how many of those checkouts they rate. Over time, the system will become more accurate as it begins to filter recommendations based on patterns observed such as high ratings for specific authors or books from a particular genre.
Can Patrons place a hold FOR A RECOMMENDED ITEM?
Yes, you can request copies of recommendations from the library with the tap of a button.
Can you send alert/push notifications when the item is ready for pick up?
Yes, patrons can receive a notification that items requested through Boundless for Libraries are ready for pickup.
Am I able to rate books that I have not checked out from the library, but I have read on my own?
No, currently you can only rate items that you have checked out after you start using Boundless for Libraries™

What PATRON information does Boundless for libraries™ store?
- Patron Barcode
- Patron Name
- Patron Device Token (Used for Push Notifications)
- Patron Checkouts up to 180 days, beginning from when a patron opts in.
- Date of Checkout
- Checkout Item Barcode, Title, and Bibliographic Number.
- Rating assigned by patron (if any)
We do not store patron passwords or personal identification numbers (PINs) on our servers. This information is stored locally on any patron's mobile device where Boundless for Libraries™ is installed.
How is data transmitted and stored?
All information stored on our cloud database servers is 256-bit AES encrypted, which is considered the "gold standard" for data encryption by the National Institute of Standards and Technology. All electronic communication between your mobile device and our servers is protected and encrypted via SSL (HTTPS).
HOW DOES CAPIRA TECHNOLOGIES USE THE INFORMATION GATHERED FROM PATRONS WHO HAVE OPTED IN?
Information gathered is used to adjust the algorithms which recommend books to your patrons. Other statistical usage data is aggregated and may be shared with others, without any personally identifying information.
Does Capira Technologies share any personally identifying patron or library information with third parties?
No, we do not share any personally identifying information with any third parties except to the library that issued the library card used to access Boundless for Libraries™. However, anonymous aggregated usage information may be provided to third parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.
Does Capira Technologies MARKET ITS PRODUCTS OR SERVICES TO PATRONS WHO HAVE OPTED IN?
We do not advertise, contact or market to patrons who opt in to Boundless for Libraries except to provide information about new or pending reading recommendations, or general platform updates.
